Product Details
During the Victorian era, women would sometimes wear detachable orbs known as coach covers over their earrings. The covers were used to disguise diamond earrings while traveling and easily removed once at their destination, revealing the beautiful earrings inside.

These beautiful and unusual coach covers are particularly wonderful and from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 15k yellow gold, each circular orb features intricate Etruscan-style wirework. The swirling wirework is complemented by small three-dimensional circles and clover motifs, which adds to the unique appeal of the pair. The covers are hinged and almost appear seamless when closed and a small opening can be found at the top of each allowing the wearer to attach them to a drop earring or stud. Delicate and beautiful, they display wonderful artistry and would make a lovely addition to any collection!

Measurements:The earrings have an exterior diameter of 5/8".

Conditions:The overall condition of the earring coach covers is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the hinges are secure and in good working condition.
